AROUND THE TABLE
WANGSA MAJU, KUALA LUMPUR • 2026
A contemporary family residence centered around a sense of togetherness.
The Project
The first view into the home centres on a round dining table beneath two pendant lights. Beyond it, the living area draws the eye towards the back of the space, creating a natural flow between the main living areas.
Rather than treating dining and living as separate zones, the design brings them together through a consistent palette, complementary furniture and considered lighting. Each area retains its own character while feeling part of a larger whole.
The Bedroom
The bedroom offers a quieter side of the home. Warm walnut, soft neutrals and layered textiles create a sense of comfort without excess. Full-height cabinetry keeps the space organised, while pendant lights cast a gentle glow as the day draws to a close.
Here, the design makes room for unhurried mornings, quiet evenings and the small rituals of everyday life. It is a personal space that feels restful without losing its connection to the rest of the home.
Materials and Details
Texture brings depth to the interior. Ribbed panelling introduces subtle rhythm, while walnut cabinetry contrasts with lighter surfaces. Upholstery and soft furnishings soften the architectural lines, balancing structure with comfort.
Lighting shifts the atmosphere throughout the day. Pendant lights define key areas, while ambient illumination brings warmth after dark. Together, these details create a cohesive interior that feels connected without making every room look the same.
