Layers of Sol
PAVILION DAMANSARA HEIGHTS, KUALA LUMPUR • 2026
Light shapes the atmosphere of a space, changing its character from day to evening.
The Project
A study in Light and warmth
Purchased as an investment property, this Regent Suites apartment called for a balance of visual appeal and everyday practicality. Its lower-floor position limits natural sunlight, so we used layered lighting to brighten the interior and create a more inviting atmosphere.
Overhead lighting provides general illumination, while ambient lighting adds warmth and dimension. Softly lit display shelves draw attention to the walnut cabinetry and selected decorative pieces, creating a focal point without overwhelming the space.
A Sense of Welcome
Light beige finishes create a calm backdrop, while warm walnut accents add contrast and definition. We carried these tones throughout the interior, balancing colour and texture to create depth without overwhelming the space. Ribbed details and layered lighting bring further visual interest.
For an investment property, the interior should make prospective tenants feel at home from the moment they step inside. We chose a restrained, cohesive palette that feels warm and inviting without being overly personalised. This allows different occupants to imagine the space as their own, while giving the home a timeless appeal.
LAYERS OF SOL
The name Layers of Sol reflects the changing qualities of light throughout the day. Natural daylight, overhead lighting and ambient illumination work together to shape the atmosphere of the interior. The warm, neutral palette brings continuity to the space as the light changes.
