When Move-In Ready Isn't Quite Your Own
Windsor Suites & Regent Suites arrive with much of the home already in place.
The kitchen is fitted, the wardrobes are provided, and the bathrooms are complete. In many cases, an owner could simply add lighting and curtains, bring in furniture and move in.
So why renovate?
Because move-in ready doesn’t necessarily mean it feels like your own.
The Starting Point is Already There
The apartment has a substantial foundation to work with. Windsor and Regent Suites offer a wide range of layouts, from compact one-bedroom residences to larger three-bedroom homes with studies.
That changes what renovation can mean.
Renovation doesn’t necessarily mean replacing what the developer has provided, unless that is what you want to do. It can simply mean adding what a standard apartment cannot provide — custom elements that give the home its own character.
The Personal layer
When the essentials are already in place, the walls become an opportunity to change the character of the apartment.
A full-height feature wall can bring definition to the living room. A hidden door can close off a hallway while becoming part of the wall itself. A TV console, additional cabinetry, shelving or a working desk can be integrated into the architecture rather than treated as separate pieces of furniture. In the bedroom, a customised bedhead can give the room a stronger sense of proportion and identity.
Working With What Is Already There
The existing kitchen, wardrobes and bathrooms naturally become part of the interior. New joinery, wall treatments and furniture need to sit alongside them rather than compete with them.
This is where materials, proportions and detailing become important. A new cabinet might pick up a finish from the kitchen. A wall feature can continue an existing tone or introduce a contrast. Lighting can connect the original spaces with the newly designed elements.
The apartment already has its own language. The renovation adds to it.
A Reference For Windsor & Regent Suites
The Lantern is one example of how Mod Maison works with natural materials to create a warm, cohesive interior. Wood, stone and restrained tones establish a material palette that carries through the home, while proportion and continuity keep the spaces visually connected.
Every residence calls for a different response, but the same attention to material balance, scale and continuity can guide the design.
How Much to Renovate
Not every residence needs the same level of renovation.
Some owners may keep the kitchen, wardrobes and bathrooms exactly as they are and focus on lighting, furniture and selected joinery. Others may want to introduce more extensive wall features, concealed doors, additional storage or changes to the existing finishes.
The extent of the renovation depends on what the owner wants to change and what is already working well.

Making the Apartment Your Own
At Mod Maison, we work with what is already there and identify where the interior can be developed further.
From interior architecture and custom joinery to lighting, material selection, furniture and styling, the focus is on creating a cohesive interior around the existing apartment.
The result is a home that begins with what the developer has provided, but feels distinctly its own.
Because move-in ready is a starting point, not necessarily the finished home.
